55+ pages

Dashboards, forms, tables, charts, calendar, inbox, chat, kanban, file manager, e-commerce, admin — all designed in the same v4 system.

Real charts & tables

Apache ECharts and DataTables wired in, styled to match the design system. 16 chart variants, sortable tables, CSV export — all working.

Lean & modern

Bootstrap 5 is gone — replaced with a self-contained design system in 10 SCSS partials. ~17 KB above-the-fold (gzipped). No jQuery.

Light & dark themes

Pre-paint script reads localStorage and prefers-color-scheme — dark mode never flashes.

Fully interactive

Inbox sends emails. Kanban drags. Calendar adds events. Forms validate. Settings persist. Not just pretty — these pages actually work.

⌘K command palette

Global fuzzy search across every page and action. Built-in keyboard shortcuts on the inbox (J/K/R/C). Modern admin UX out of the box.

Every surface, designed

Since 2014, aurora has been one of the most-used free admin templates on GitHub.

★★★★★

"Finally, an admin template that doesn't ship 600MB of node_modules. The token system is so clean — I changed --primary and the entire app rebranded.”

"Dropped this into my SaaS prototype on a Saturday and had it deployed by Sunday night. The DataTables and ECharts integration alone saved me a week.”

"The dark mode is genuinely good — most templates make dark mode look like an afterthought. v4 nailed the color tokens for both modes.”

Questions

Frequently asked

Is it really free for commercial use? +
Yes. MIT licensed since day one. Use it for client work, side projects, your own SaaS — no attribution required (though we always appreciate a star on GitHub).
Do I need a backend? +
No. Aurora is a pure frontend template — static HTML/CSS/JS. Wire it up to whatever stack you like (Rails, Django, Express, Laravel, Supabase, anything).
Can I use it with React/Vue/Svelte? +
The SCSS design system is framework-agnostic — drop the compiled CSS into any project. The HTML pages and shell rendering are vanilla JS, so port what you need.
How do I customize the colors? +
Every color lives in _tokens.scss as a CSS custom property. Change --primary and every chart, button, badge, and link updates.
What changed in v4? +
Bootstrap and jQuery are gone. The design system is custom SCSS. ECharts replaced Chart.js. DataTables replaced jQuery DataTables. node_modules dropped from ~600 MB to 138 MB. See the changelog for the full diff.
Where can I get help? +
Open an issue on GitHub or read the help center. The repo also has a CONTRIBUTING.md if you want to send a PR.
